Avoid Coffee diligent Endometrium Cancer - Health tips

WOMEN coffee lovers, be happy. Coffee consumption in the long term associated with a decreased risk of endometrial cancer, according to a study published online Tuesday (22/11) in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.

Edward Giovannucci, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health said that the coffee does contain a substance protective against cancers associated with obesity, estrogen, and insulin.

"Coffee has been shown to be protective against diabetes because of its effect on insulin," said Giovannucci.

The researchers observed cumulative coffee intake and its relation to endometrial cancer in 67,470 women enrolled in the Study Nurses' Health. For 26 years, researchers documented 672 cases of endometrial cancer.

Drinking more than four cups of coffee per day was associated with a 25 percent lower risk for endometrial cancer. Drinking between two and three cups per day was associated with a decreased risk of 7 percent.

Similar relation is seen in decaffeinated coffee. Drinking more than two cups per day was associated with a 22 percent lower risk for endometrial cancer.
